Comprehensively covering Standard 3 of the Care Certificate - Duty of Care

Welcome to the suite of courses designed to help individuals demonstrate they have met all elements of the new Care Certificate Framework, developed in partnership by health Education England, Skills for Care, and Skills for Health.

These Standards replace the Common Induction Standards and National Minimum Training Standards (NMTS) and focus on the 15 areas designed to cover the key knowledge elements that help to ensure that the healthcare support worker "has the required values, behaviours, competences and skills to provide high quality, compassionate care".

Red Rock Training has released these Standards as a series of Modules to help individuals, employers and managers to better control the order in which each individual person's needs are met, an approach which also enables smaller pieces of work to be completed by candidates and signed off in turn by the relevant person within each organisation (once completed). Candidates can then confidently move on to the next Standard.

This programme deals with Standard 3 and covers the Duty of Care. The areas that will be covered in the course include:

  • Understand how duty of care contributes to safe practice
  • Understand the support available for dealing with dilemmas that may arise about duty of care
  • Dealing with comments or complaints
  • Dealing with incidents, events or near misses
  • Dealing with confrontation and difficult situations

Once you have completed all sections, passed the multiple choice exam at the end of the course and downloaded your certificate, in order to be confident in your ability to work unsupervised, you should also make sure the certificate and any associated assessment expectations have been signed off by an appropriate person deemed competent to do so.

There are a number of different certificates required to demonstrate you have completed all aspects of the Care Certificate Framework and each is uniquely referenced by Red Rock Training within this online system and can be tracked accordingly using the unique reference number on each certificate.

    Having whittled our future training company for the business down to 3, this has been my last company to have trialed (whilst also racking up some CPD points for myself). You are by far the most expensive. However, taking into account how up to date your training is, the content, ease of use (dashboard is so much clearer that others), relevant to Scotland (a must) and how responsive you were to my enquiry prior to commencing the course- this rates you as amazing at what you do.
