If you work in a job role where you deal with people, you may automatically be ‘at risk’ of being exposed to aggressive or violent behaviour. Of course, this type of workplace risk is very much dependent upon your role, the type of work you do, whom you deal with and the nature of interactions you have with others.

The types of jobs and roles where a person has the highest level of risk of being exposed to violent or aggressive behaviour includes the following:

  • Security
  • Dealing with cash/transactions
  • Delivering or collecting
  • Being in an authoritative role (public services, police and emergency services)

As it is of utmost importance to make sure that you and others in your workplace are safe, being aware of any potential for violent or aggressive acts to occur is critical and therefore this course intends to highlight the key information about the topic and also help to ensure that individuals are in the best position to able to respond effectively. Understanding actions and the implications of actions can help to reduce the risk of injury or threat to yourself and others.
