Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults (Level 2)

Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults (Level 2)

Comprehensively covering all aspects of safeguarding from duty of care, recognition and response to recording and reporting

Safeguarding is a hugely important element within a wide variety of settings and is not only a requirement through regulators but is also supported in law. As a result, each individual environment, such as education establishments, Primary Care Trusts and other healthcare environments will have Policies and Procedures, Codes of Conduct, Codes of Practice and/or other specific expectations in place around safeguarding.

Those working in the relevant environments need to ensure they are aware of the local protocols and their implications and as a result, this course seeks to further support that process by offering those who may come into contact with vulnerable adults, comprehensive information to support a clear understanding of the key issues. In this way, it is hoped that protection and prevention from harm are at the forefront of everyone’s thought processes when dealing with vulnerable adults.

This course will therefore cover the following key topics:

  • Understanding Safeguarding
  • Safeguarding Legislation
  • Safeguarding in Action and Key Principles
  • National and Local Policies
  • Duty of Care
  • Types of Abuse
  • Recognising Signs & Symptoms of Abuse
  • Impacts of Abuse
  • Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty
  • Dealing with Safeguarding concerns
  • Actions - Reporting Abuse or Suspected Abuse
  • Whistleblowing
  • Reducing the likelihood of Abuse
