New Fire Legislation came into force in October 2006 and replaced over 70 pieces of fire safety law. Companies are required to carry out their own risk assessment to ensure they are compliant with the regulations and to ensure that all staff receive adequate training.

A wide variety of flammable substances can be found in the workplace and range from the obvious – e.g. Heating fuel, petrol and paint thinners, to the less obvious such as packaging materials, dusts from wood, flour and sugar.

Each year, many people suffer burns caused by uncontrollable ignition of inflammable chemicals and other materials that they work with and the purpose of this course is to raise awareness of key information to help to reduce the risks associated with fire and to ensure all employees are aware of procedures and potential workplace hazards.
