This course offers information about the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to those organisations and responsible individuals who need to ensure their business and operating procedures align to the changing data protection regulations.

Whilst Brexit may pose questions, the implementation in 2018 of the GDPR requires organisations to meet ongoing regulation change and whilst some existing UK Data Protection Act guidelines will remain, key differences need to be understood and implemented moving forward. Any subsequent changes to legislation also need to be considered, such as the Data Protection Act 2018, which should be read alongside GDPR guidelines.

Key areas continue to evolve, and the government has confirmed that the UK’s decision to leave the EU will not affect the commencement of the GDPR, so businesses, individuals and other public bodies therefore need to be in a position to meet changing requirements under the GDPR when seeking to ensure compliance and deliver safeguards moving forward.
